Tape Art

Amy and Mia saw an artist who made pictures from tape. The artist travels around the world. They went home and made their own tape picture.

Maths with a Purpose

Room 8 maths students used junk mail to compare the cost of rounding prices compared with non rounding.
What did we find out ? 

1. Sometimes rounding was cheaper and sometimes not rounding was.
2. Lots of shops trick us with 99 cents in the price which they round up
3. we talked a lot about how prices are added 

And it was fun!

Sensory Poster

Today we made an Antarctic poster using our  5 senses . What would an animal experience in the Antarctic? We placed the words around a silhouette picture and used visual images for the sensory prompts rather than read for information.

Harry turned 9 today and made a lovely, delicious, scrummy soccer cake to share !

Calendars 2013

This year we are using our crazy, colourful collage cats and dogs for our calendars.They are whimsical and fun and not intended to be realistic in any way. I hope you enjoy looking at your calendar all year!

The originals are on our wall for viewing but the photocopied pictures are in the office. Everyone should have brought home their order form but others are available in the office.

Welcome to Term 4

It's a busy and fun term as we wind up to the end of the year. We have lots still to learn and enjoy particularly our Antarctica study .

Penguins sliding into the water

 We are learning to write like author Lauren Child and we have to perfect our our persuasive writing and language as well.
There's athletics and swimming  for PE and lots of new ideas in maths still to learn.
Remember your hat and drink bottle !
