Rubbish Collectors

It was our turn this week to check the playground for rubbish. Some people are very careless and spoil our school. Every day we found 2 bags of rubbish! 
Put that rubbish in the bin  everyone and keep our school clean!

Our little Buddies

Last Friday we were learning how to help our little buddies with their spelling.We tested them and helped them learn the right way to spell their words.
We were so fast we were able to have a little play in the classroom.

Discovery Time

After working hard all week we had some Discovery time in the afternoon. 
What did you play with?  It is lots of fun to be with your friends and be creative.

Financial Literacy

On Friday we had a visit from the ASB's time travelling Financial Adviser Vane. The class went back in time and into the future to explore how people bartered or saved their treasure and how people  stored money.
We learned  

• the difference between an eft- pos card and a credit card.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• if you start early it makes a big difference.
•  you can earn more money by doing extra chores.
•  you need to spend a little and save a bit.

 

Everyone got a wrist band to remind them about the important ideas e.g.

• spend some on you but save some too
• speed to your needs but save for your wants

Our New Song

Do you remember this blast from the past? Who is the boy busking? He is a current All Black! We have been learning this song to share with our team at our next assembly. Enjoy! 

Buddies

Today was our first buddy time.We shared a picture book and talked to our little buddies. It's going to be fun helping our room 4 buddies learn this year.

Measuring Maths

We have started the year learning about cm and m. We have measured using wool , tape measures and metre rulers. Working together made the tasks fun.
