Angle Testers

On Thursdays and Fridays we stay in our own classes for maths .We have had fun learning about angles and lines.We made an angle tester to see if we could find right angles in our classroom.

.Right angles are used in building construction as it is strong.

We have been recycling toilet rolls into minions and high rise buildings .They look pretty cool don't they?

Clever Rosa

Gymnastics

Rosa won the Step 4 Gym competition held in Levin this weekend and the weekend prior she won the Rimutaka Step 4 Competition. Rosa is a very talented gymnast. Well done Rosa.

A Rainy Monday

It was a dark rainy Monday today but Room 8 had fun. Izzy did her dance while we played the song on our big screen. She was very graceful.

At lunchtime a group of boys made a huge structure. Very impressive.

Football in Schools

We had a lovely 45 minutes with the coaches from Football in Schools today. Mrs Chao is very proud of Room 8 as the coaches said Room 8 was a lovely class to work with. High five room 8 .
The sun was out and everyone had a smile!

Pedal Ready

On Friday in the beautiful sun Room 8 were lucky enough to have pedal ready lessons.We learned how to be safe, look after our bikes, signal to turn and stop. Everyone listened carefully and were clever enough to pass Grade 1 .

Perimeter and Area

Room 8 has been revising their measurement skills  from last term. We worked out the perimeter or distance around  gardens on their worksheet and then the area, working with a buddy. 
We found out something really interesting. First we measured the sides of the A4 paper to work out the perimeter. We found out that the perimeter of the page was a metre ! It sure doesn't look it !

Box Cars

We designed and made boxcars from a shoe boxes. They were all different and it was lovely to see groups working together so well.Our boxcars were invited to be displayed in the Eastbourne library. We hope you saw them and were motivated to read the books.

Apple TV

We love to move and dance to the great songs on our new Apple TV. We can exercise even on wet days and its fun.You can try this at home . 

End of Term

A shared morning tea is a great way to end the term even if it is a little early.

 Everyone brought yummy things to eat .
