All the water in the World .

Yesterday we experienced how little useable water there is in the world.
All the water in the world can be represented by  20 litres or 2 buckets .

The only fresh water found in ice, snow , rivers, lakes clouds soils and rock is represented by 2 mugs from the bucket. One and a half mugs of the water is found deep under the ground or in  the Antarctic or Arctic circle and we can't easily reach it.
All the rest of the water left in the buckets is salty.
3 teaspoons of water from the mug is the only freshwater we can easily reach ! That's not much!

This has made us think very carefully about the way we use water. We didn't waste the water and used it to water the plants in  our garden .

Term 4

We are back for another exciting term. This term we are learning about Water. Who needs it, where it comes from and what we can do to save water .Sounds like fun!
For maths we are revising number and things we have covered this year. Our writing is persuasive or argument writing. We have covered a little in Term 2 so we will be revising and expanding our ideas to get better.
For PE and sport we have Athletics and swimming.
The best thing of all is that Muritai now has 32 ipads!!! We get to have a lot of  time trying them out and improving our skills.

Goodbye Theo

The last day of term 3 was Theo's last day at Muritai. He is moving to Tauranga with his family. We will miss his cheeky smile and his cheerfulness. Theo was a great helper in class and loved being responsible. Theo would always help other people and look after them. Hamish baked a lovely farewell cake for Theo as his homework task. It was yummy.
Take care Theo and keep in touch!

More Homework.

We had wonderful homework to share this week. Ilya made a boat, Sophia an animal kit that was attracted to light and Oscar a model of Homer Simpson.  Daan and Fergus made an amazing go cart. Amazing! Look at all the different types of things that people did for their "Choose your own Homework."

We also had lots of lovely baking and we loved that a lot!!

A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum...

We had a busy last week of term with the Mini Olympics, a greek dress up afternoon and a farewell for Theo and Flora.

As you can see everyone loved dressing up and looking gorgeous in their Greek robes. They ate Greek style food and had lots of fun to celebrate the end of their Greek study.
