Friends Working Together

Today Fergus and Daan worked together on Daan's Term 3 and 4  title page. They talked  a lot about what needed to be done and Fergus helped Daan get it the way he wanted it. Fergus was very patient and shared his skills well. Good job boys!

Calendar Art

This week we started our house paintings for our calendars.We designed them on our art pads after practicing houses we liked from the photocopied paintings. We tried to keep them simple so we could paint them in bold colours. We hope our parents like them too.

Reader's Theatre

As part of our reading we are focusing on reading with fluency and expression as well as acting out a poem as a performance.

Room 8 are really getting into character as you can see and loving it. Each person acts out the character they are presenting and has a turn at other characters as the roles change.The character is presented with different voices as students put their own stamp on the poem.

The Muritai Olympics

This week we have been getting to know the other students in our  country trams . We are lucky to have wonderful year 7 and 8 leaders who will organize and look after the teams while they compete. We painted our flag and learned a little about the country.

On Monday the teams will complete against all the other teams to see who is the champion country. Room 8 hosted Brazil and France.

Monday Maths

We lose quite a few people from our class on Mondays as they are part of the Mantle programme. We revise our learning, look at our mathletics homework task and today we practiced our tables by playing games. 

Following instructions and rules along with being a fair player are good skills to have. Also being a good winner or loser means that other students will be happy to play with you again. You all have fun.

Mixed Media Collage Faces

We are slowly finishing our collage faces. The different textures of pictures add detail and interest to our collage faces. Every face looks different.

Being Busy

We have completed our term goals, our Gretchen Albrecht landscapes are on the wall, our collages are nearly finished and we have made our Olympic torches. We have been busy lately.
